Dear Planned Parenthood,
I am writing this letter to address your part in my decision to have an abortion. I knew better, and the decision was ultimately mine. I recognize that and own my part of it. But have you owned your part? As time has gone forward, I’ve worked to process through my feelings and responsibilities and through repentance, brokenness, heartache and anger, and by the grace of God received forgiveness and healing. I’m grateful for that journey and where I’ve come from there.
But what about you? I’ve not seen any evidence that would suggest that there’s been any change of heart on your part. In fact, quite the opposite. Over the years, you have doubled and even tripled down on your intention not only to continue to promote and encourage abortion but to increase, expand, and glorify it. In all honesty, it makes it very hard to be forgiving. The utter lack of repentance in the face of the facts is infuriating.
I can only surmise that you’ve lied to yourselves for so long that you can no longer comprehend the truth. I don’t know how else you can daily tear babies limb from limb from their mothers’ wombs or send her home with drugs that will expel her baby into a toilet while bleeding profusely. You know the truth. You choose to ignore it.
I know that forgiveness is for my own benefit. I can’t withhold it when my Savior has so lavishly forgiven me. Unwillingness to forgive would only burden me and I’m quite certain that it makes no difference to you whatsoever.
But I will work against you – whether by volunteering, donating, speaking truth to women in my life, or praying (never estimate the power of a prayer warrior) – I will endeavor to counter your efforts.
Whether or not you choose to believe it, you will one day face your Creator who gave life to you and to all of those babies. I hope and pray for your sake that repentance and salvation come first.
