The loveliest time of year is finally here.
The evenings are crisp and cool, Trader Joe’s has an entire aisle dedicated to pumpkin spice products, and Poudre Libraries is celebrating #BannedBooks.
In recognition of the festive season, Poudre Libraries spent last week celebrating and promoting controversial books which have been highlighted by concerned parents in school districts across the country. The local library hosted high school and adults-only after-hours parties, had a banned book read aloud, and even featured a banned book reading contest.
The content in the top 10 banned books promoted by Poudre Libraries includes themes such as: celebration of kids injecting themselves with cross-sex hormones, graphic portrayals of sex, specific instruction regarding how to perform a variety of sexual acts, links to graphic pornography internet sites, and statements so shocking we do not feel comfortable repeating in this publication.
